This section has some more details about our stickers
and how to apply them to your car. Please read this section carefully
before buying and using one of our car stickers.
SIZE, COLOUR AND MATERIAL:
Both stickers are approx
7cm x 7cm square shape, supplied on backing paper. As the design
is at 45 degrees the sticker is positioned as a diamond, so you
will need a clear space of approx. 10cm x 10cm for the sticker.
The stickers are designed
to attach to the INSIDE of your car window or other GLASS surface
and be viewed through the glass from the outside. They cannot
be applied in any other way.
The stickers are "self-cling".
We have chosen this material (which is a standard material for
car stickers) because it means you can move the sticker if required,
it will not leave a mark on the glass, and if you bodge the installation
up you can try again. We have found that the sticky ones only
give you one chance to get it right! If applied properly (see
below) these have an excellent adhesion to a glass surface.
The stickers are professionally
printed by a printing company. You do not need any special equipment
to apply them.
One sticker is all orange
with black print and the other sticker is white text on clear
(see-through) with an orange border. The see-through sticker works
well because the inside of most vehicles appears dark or black,
making the text stand out. Stickers are printed in UV stable ink.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. CLEAN YOUR WINDOW!!!
You must do this! Dirt, grease or dust will inhibit the cling,
and can cause air bubbles or imperfections on the sticker. We
recommend the use of a proper window cleaning solution or at the
very minimum, a good wipe with a clean cloth. You should ensure
the glass is clean and free from dirt.
2: Get a cloth, or some
kitchen roll, or toilet roll, and saturate it with water so that
it is dripping wet. Remove the sticker carefully from the backing.
Using the wet cloth, ensure that the window where the sticker
is to be applied is VERY WET. Wet the contact side of the sticker
also. Place a corner of the sticker on the wet glass and slowly
smooth the sticker (with a clean, dry cloth) onto the wet glass.
The water makes it easier to smooth out bubbles and to slide the
sticker slightly if required. Look at the sticker from the outside.
If you see any air bubbles, press the sticker in place with one
finger to avoid slippage and then use the cloth to smooth the
bubble towards and out of an edge. Gently dry the area, or leave
it to air dry. Use lots of water but don't lick the sticker, you
won't make it wet enough!
You CAN apply the sticker
direct to glass without water. We have tried this and found that
you can get bubbles and imperfections which results in a mottled
appearance (in this case it is NOT a fault with the sticker).
Using water makes it a lot easier.
Don't forget, the sticker
is applied to the INSIDE of your car!
CARE FOR YOUR CAR STICKER:
Leave the sticker once in
place. Repeated peeling off will stretch the sticker. Avoid scratching
it or applying it in areas where it might get knocked a lot etc.
After applying your car
sticker you may notice a mottled appearance or variations in colour
tone. THIS IS NOT A FAULTY STICKER it is caused where the sticker
does not make good contact with glass. The normal cause of this
is air bubbles and these can be minimised using water during application.
Some of the mottled appearance is also caused by dust or dirt.
If you clean your glass properly and apply the sticker wet, then
take time to smooth the sticker out while it is still slippy,
you can eliminate these bubbles.
LEGAL ISSUES:
Please note that our car
sticker IS NOT A HAZARD DIAMOND. It does not contain hazard classification
information or symbols and is NOT luminous orange. It does not
include ANY firework related information, only the wording "www
UKFR com". Our car sticker is NOT intended to mimic a hazard
diamond.
We accept no responsibility
for your use or application of the car sticker or any legal implications
whatsoever. We should advise you that putting it in your front
windscreen or in a place that would obscure your safe driving
view, might be considered illegal. At all times use common sense.
AND FINALLY:
I've got two stickers in
my car which I applied using water. Over a year later they are
still there. They have not peeled, slipped, or faded. If you use
common sense and apply these stickers carefully they should last
for years.
