Britannia Fireworks are holding an experience day for firework enthusiasts on Saturday 14th March 2015. In this article we’ll take a look at what’s on offer for those wanting a taster of professional displays plus pass on an astonishing 50% discount offer for UKFR readers!

Take your interest in fireworks to the next level!

If you’ve been letting off fireworks for friends and family but have always wondered what it would be like to get closer to professional displays then you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common discussions in our busy Fireworks Forum.

There are a couple of ways to get into the professional side however if you’re looking to get more of a taster rather than commit to full-on training then an enthusiast’s day like this is just the ticket. This type of event is well suited to those who want to see what professional fireworks involve before taking the plunge. Unlike formal training, an experience day can be undertaken simply for the fun of it and of course would make an excellent gift for those wanting to surprise a pyro-loving friend or partner.

There’s no doubt about it, getting involved with the professional side of fireworks is a thrill like no other and if you enjoy letting pyro off in the garden then you’re highly likely to find the professional side even more exciting.

The Britannia Fireworks Experience Day

This day-long experience covers a whole range of fun elements from the life of a professional displayer and behind the scenes at a fireworks company:

  • A look at how explosives and fireworks work in the classroom
  • How to risk assess the basics of a fireworks display
  • Take a tour of a licenced professional storage facility
  • Hands-on experience of fusing various fireworks
  • See a wide variety of firework types and products
  • A look at professional fireworks hardware including firing systems
  • Set up part of your own display – and an opportunity to fire it!
  • Get a free goodie bag and certificate of attendance
  • Take up further professional training with Britannia afterwards if you’re bitten by the bug

The end result if you become professional – letting off fireworks for the public

As you can see this is not only the theory of fireworks displaying – you get a genuine chance for “hands-on” fusing and firing too.

The first Experience Day for 2015 is on Saturday March 14th from 10am, at the Hanbury Memorial Hall in Hanbury, Staffs, DE13 8TJ.

The normal cost for this event is £150 which is superb value for the experience on offer. However, Britannia Fireworks have a long association with UKFR going back to 1999 when our site started, so have kindly agreed to offer a whopping 50% discount off this cost for UKFR readers. Yes, that means the whole experience day is just £75! This really is a steal considering you’ll see behind the scenes at one of the UK’s largest fireworks companies AND get a chance to set-up and fire some fireworks!

I can remember the first time I had a guided tour of a licenced store and just seeing box upon box of pyro was like being transported to heaven – obviously you have to be a pyromaniac to appreciate why this is so exciting. Opportunities like this have become rare these days so this type of day is brilliant when you consider the setting up and firing of some pyro is included too. Can’t wait until Guy Fawkes to get your fix? Now you don’t have to!
