This section contains help for new
or existing members who might be experiencing problems
accessing or downloading material that is "members
only".
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
|
Members' only content is characterised by a "pop
up box" which asks you to prove that you are
a paying member. It will look similar to this, depending
on your browser:

You need to enter your username and
password as requested. You will have chosen these
when you first joined, and these details will have
also been confirmed to you by e-mail at the time.
 |
The single biggest cause of problems for members
is when they do not enter the correct username
or password. They are CASE SENSITIVE.
So if you registered the username "member"
then only "member" will work - "MEMBER",
"Member", "memBer" (etc)
will be rejected.
|
Please remember that your username and
password only become valid when we have manually approved
your membership. You will get a confirmation e-mail
to confirm this.
 |
We do not offer instant access to the
site. We manually process applications. Your
username and password only become valid when
you have received an e-mail to say so (and your
term only starts from then too).
|
One problem that has occurred in the past is due
to this option being used:

From time to time we develop new areas
of the site, and because of this your browser does
not know that they are part of the main UKFR member
area. In such cases you will be prompted for your
password - which of course you will have forgotten!
 |
We therefore recommend against using the "remember
password" option or, at the very least,
please write down your password when
you joined, or print off the confirmation e-mail.
|
If you are an existing member and are
suddenly being refused access, but are sure that you
are entering the correct details, this could be because
of the following reasons:
 |
Your membership has expired. We normally send
an e-mail to confirm this, but this can only
be sent to the address used when you registered.
Because of the long membership terms (up to
a year) it is not uncommon for members to have
changed their e-mail address in this time. Therefore
you would not receive the expiry notification.
|
 |
There is a technical issue with the site or
the members content is temporarily unavailable.
|
 |
We have barred your account for breach of our
terms, password sharing or other matters.
|
In all cases such as these please contact
us for help.
From time to time the server may lock you out of
the site. This can happen if you enter too many incorrect
passwords, or the server has not been able to validate
your user ID. In most cases such as these you will
be advised that the lock will be lifted after a certain
time and you should try again later. If you still
experience problems, please contact
us for help.
 |
We fully appreciate that not everyone wants
to join our site particularly those readers
from outside the UK, and this is why we go out
of our way to provide a significant amount of
free to access material. If you wish to access
any content in particular, but don't want to
join, you only have to ask - we can often help.
It is always disappointing to find people trying
to hack into our site instead. Doing so only
risks you having your activities being reported
to your ISP, or a formal report made to the
police. And all for the sake of either asking
us for help, or paying £1.67 a month?

|
If you have forgotten your password, you may request
a reminder by e-mail by using the password
reminder page.
|
|
If you have forgotten your password and changed your
e-mail so you can't get a reminder, don't panic -
it happens from time to time. Please contact
us and request a reminder. If you are using a
different e-mail we may ask you to confirm your name
or address details for our mutual security. Let us
know if you want to update any of your details at
the same time.
|
|
There is no need to request a cancellation of your
membership, as we do not currently use recurring billing.
 |
All membership payments are one-offs
and you are not re-billed after your membership
has expired.
|
Once your membership has expired if you no longer
wish to be a member - do nothing - simple as that!
|
 |
 |
 |
|
We are not able to change the term of a membership
and/or the payment amount once your application has
been confirmed. Quite often we have members join for
the shortest time then want to upgrade to a full year.
In this case you would need to wait until the first
term has expired, then join for a year.
Each season we have one or two members who choose
the wrong membership term during the payment process.
We have tried to make the system as simple and clear
as possible, but user errors can occur.
 |
Be sure that if you have a "scroll wheel"
on your mouse that the membership list is not
selected when you try and scroll up or down
the payment page, as this might change the requested
term!
|
The payment amount is always confirmed to you by
e-mail - if you have made a mistake, let us know.
If you inform us before the application is
approved by us, we will be happy to cancel your application,
refund your fee and let you start again from the beginning.
However, we cannot do this if your account has been
approved and you have used the site.

Follow the instructions with each clip for accessing
member video. Some clips should be accessed by clicking
on the link, others by right-clicking and "save
target as..." to save the clip to your own PC
before playing it. We have a separate guide covering
the download and playing of our video - click
here.

As a member you can access our busy forum. You can
access this straight away once your membership has
been approved.
 |
You only need to actually register in the forum
if you want to post a message or make
use of the forum facilities such as the search
option. Please remember that your registered
forum ID is separate from your UKFR username
and password BUT always enter your UKFR username
and password in any "pop-up box" as
this is the membership gateway you must pass
to get to the actual forum.
|
Don't panic! We have a complete and illustrated guide
to accessing the forum in easy steps. Click
here to read it.

We use a third party company, normally either Netbanx
or PayPal, to process our card payments. We therefore
have no access at all to your credit/debit card details,
nor are these details passed to us. We only receive
notification of the outcome of your card payment.
Please refer all queries relating to the processing
of your card to the relevant company.
 |
We cannot, and do not, get involved in issues
relating to card security or the processing
of your card, as we have no part in, or control
over, these operations.

the terms you agreed to when you became a member.
Please ensure your use of our member content complies
with these.
We also have general site terms and privacy policy
which you can view here.
Other parts of our site may be subject to additional
terms which will be explained where relevant.
|
|
If you need to contact us for any reason, please
refer to the contact us
page which you can also access by clicking on the
option at the top of any main page.
Please remember to quote your membership username
in any correspondence so that we can give it priority.

|
This page has the main issues relating to accessing
the member content. If you have any other queries,
you might find the answers in the FAQ
section.
 |
We have operated this site for over six years
now and although we run it as a hobby, we pride
ourselves on giving top quality customer service.
If you have any issues at all, any problems,
concerns, feedback or suggestions please tell
us so that we can help YOU and improve the site.
The majority of improvements to the UKFR are
driven by member suggestions and ideas.
