5 metre safety distance.
Also known as a "garden" or category 2 firework. |
 |
25 metre safety
distance. Also known as a "display" or category
3 firework |
 |
Noisy firework. This
symbol indicates the firework contains either noisy effects
(bangs, crackles, whizzes etc) OR is noisy
in operation (powerful shell launches, or loud shell breaks).
This symbol on its own does not necessarily mean the firework
specifically has "bangs". |
 |
VERY noisy firework!
This symbol indicates the firework's sole job is to make as
much noise as possible, normally through loud bangs ("reports")
or in addition to other effects, there is an extreme
amount of noise. |
 |
Interesting sounds. This
symbol indicates the firework contains noise effects other than
bangs, for example: whizzes, screeches, whistles, pops, crackles
or hisses. |
 |
Pretty effects. This
symbol shows the firework produces pretty effects, such as comet
tails, bright colours, glitter or special effects. The full
review will give more details. |
| Duration
is shown in seconds. This is measured from when the effect starts
and does not include the fuse burning time. For packs of fireworks
with various effects, the duration shown here is an average
- the full review will contain more details. Be warned, this
is a guide only! |
This means that the firework is considered by our reviewers
to be one of the best of its type. Fireworks achieve this
rating if they offer excellent performance, value for money,
unique or original effects. The firework must then consistently
maintain this performance to retain the "best buy"
rating - so your opinion counts. Only exceptional fireworks
make this rating.
|
This means that the firework is considered by our reviewers
to offer excellent performance but is not quite up to "best
buy" standards. |
This means that we have fired and filmed the
firework under review conditions, but have yet to upload a full
review. First impressions can be extremely useful because they
often contain a brief review or the firer's second opinion.
A full review with pictures, video and a final rating normally
follows in due course. |
This indicates that the review has been supplied by a reader.
We normally only include reader reviews where there is also
some evidence to support the findings, eg. a reader submitted
video. Reader Reviews allow us to feature more items in the
review database in particular of items or brands we would otherwise
not have seen. |
or New means
that the review has been recently uploaded, updated means that
we have changed an existing review, eg. to add more information
or important news. |

about how we review and rate fireworks, and how to use these
sections, see the "about" section. |

If you thought this was just a coloured-in SIB1 box,
you're wrong. Here Black Cat completely redesign their
leading and cheapest SIB. Some parts are crap, some
parts are orgasmic. A "recommended" but read
our review and check out nearly twenty action pictures
so you can decide for yourself in our full
review... some of you will like it, some won't :-)
