Each display was stunning and a wonderful showcase not only of safe firing but of what can be achieved with exactly the same fireworks any member of the public can legally buy and use. I am sure a great many spectators went home that night awed that they had witnessed displays of a quality I'm sure they had previously only associated with professional displays.

Every team pulled some wonderful sequences out of the bag giving the judges a very tough job. But, this is after all a competition, so time for the final results!

FIRST PLACE: TINDERBOX FANTASIA

Well done Dieter and Chris, official winners of the second Semi Pro Fireworks Championships.

This display featured a very dense and continuous ending sequence, and was the only display on the night to have little or no gaps at any point. This fluidity and good use of colour helping them to a brilliant victory, well done! If you have not already done so, see their display page for video highlights.

SECOND PLACE: SKY MONKEYS

The first display of the night, this featured some fantastic near-professional angled fan sequences and many sustained, powerful barrages. A hard act to follow by any of the subsequent teams and a well deserved second place. If you have not already done so, see their display page for video highlights.

THIRD PLACE: SKY MATRIX

Very well done to defending champions Sky Matrix not only for third place but for doing it single handed! This display had some awesome silver fan barrages that lit up the whole area and a jaw-dropping finale. If you have not already done so, see their display page for video highlights.

Commiserations to Ground Force and Colourflek for missing out on the top three places. Take heart however, the competition was a tight one, and we cannot stress enough that both of the non winning teams put on staggering displays. Check out their display pages and the video highlights and try to judge yourself - you'll see how good all of these displays were!
